WHAT IF...
you cast Haunt on your DUA and during the melee attack roll you get various SAI's... Where in the rules does it say how to resolve... Ferry? or Teleport? what about a cantrip induced open grave. or even a cantrip induced nightmoves in the middle of the melee attack.
I know how I would rule in each of these cases, I just don't know that I could support the rulling...
WHAT IF, part duex...
A cantrip induced nightmoves happens in the beginning of a melee attack and ends up changing the terrain icons away from melee. or happens during missle and changes the terrain TO melee. Do you ignore the terrain and finish the action you started? |

Ferry/Teleport/Firewalking are handled in their usual way, as would be Open Grave. At the end of the Haunt spell, any units from the magically constructed army that aren't buried are returned to the DUA, just as the spell says.

Again, this is handled the usual way. How would this be a problem anyway?

Yes, you finish the action you started (because you are in the middle of resolving it). |

hmm... what if you path someone INTO that haunted army? They just create or join your army at that terrain when the dead units go back to the DUA?
As for Nightmoves. I guess it isn't a problem, just an interesting occurance. For example, what if you nightmoves a haunting army and it takes control of the 8th face? not only is that cool a idea, but does it count for victory?
I'm just in a WHATIF mood today. |

I just had a thought, is a haunting army AT a terrain? The spell never actually says.
In that case the army can't be target with Night moves... |

You cannot path a unit into a haunting army. If you don't already have a "living" army at that terrain, then the pathed unit will create a new army.

It counts for victory if its your second 8th face. If its your first 8th face, then the terrain will go back down to 7 when the Haunt spell ends if you don't have any living units at that terrain.

They are indeed at the terrain (or the reserves if you decide to attack someone's reserve army). See also Magically Constructed Army in the glossary. |

Wow! thats not a glossary entry, its half a page of rules!
I've always skipped the glassary thinking it was truely just definitions, guess I need to go read it as being the only location for some rules. |

The Haunting army would have to cantrip itself with Nightmoves during the melee attack to be able to cast this combo.
Since Nightmoves requires an Undead unit at the terrain and the army
initially is in the DUA, you can't cast Nightmoves on the army,
(or you can say the army did not exist yet)
but the army can cast Nightmoves on itself though cantrips. |
