What happens if an army has an open grave on them and a red dragon kills them with breath?
If they're in reserves, does it count as them having been killed? And if it does, do they have to save or be buried? _________________ Former Destroyer, son of Ddice

The Units do not go to the reserves instantly....
they must first save against the red dragon breath burial at the terrain,
so the units still get racial abilities, like terrain advantage for example,
so if at a coastland, coral elves can use maneuvers as saves against the red dragon breath.
racial advatages like this would work for individual saves,
like lightning Strike

Red Dragon Breath is an individual targeting effect, so Open Grave does not apply to the units killed by it. |

No. The units are killed first, then they roll to save against burial. So the only possibe racial advantage is Undead Resist Burial and the Phoenix attempting to roll Rise From The Ashes. |

Ok

So the Damage from a dragon is an army targeting effect,
while Red Dragon Breath is an individual targeting effect. |

Yes Jim.
Read the description of Dragon Tail, Claws, Wing, and Jaws. The target is the army.
Read the description of the Breaths. The target is units.
Open Grave only protects against army-targeting effects. |

Open Grave does not protect against breath. "No saves possible" means just that. Also Breath targets units, not an army. Open Grave only protects an army not units. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Gave myself a headache trying to think when this would even happen.
Thought of two cases:
1) Two of your armies are attacked by dragons. The first 'Trips in the OG onto the other.
2) In a multi-player game, one opponent throws the OG on you as a means to expedite your bothering someone else. "OK, I'm going to put an OG on you then punch you in the face. Don't take it personally. When it's your turn, if you have any guys left, attack me so I can send them to reserves. Then when you reinforce you can move your guys up over there to fight him. Besides, he's the one who summoned the dragon(s)." (for most purposes him = Chuck. )
Which one happened to you, Pelter Boy? Or are you just pondering possibilities?
Not that there isn't a lot of that going around these days.
