In the spirit of completing patterns...
Red = Fire
Blue = Air
Gold = Earth
Black = Death
Green = Water
Metallic Gold = Gold
Metallic Silver = Silver
Metallic Bronze = Bronze
Ivory = ???
White = ???
I don't want a definition, I want a one word description of Ivory and White.
For example.. A Fire Wyrm or a Death Drake, ... _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Ivory is life drain.....
so void might work for ivory
Opposite of rainbow
presence of all colors
lack of any color
not a very pretty name
but then lack of
could also apply to the name
Void |

Hmm.. I summon a 'Null Drake' to your home.
I summon a 'Void Wyrm' to the Frontier.
Doesn't really 'flow' does it? Maybe ivory is the best term to use even though it breaks the pattern. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

If you want to keep the pattern....
an Ivory Dragon has no name
(Lack of name)
So .....Summon a Drake to a terrain...
means Ivory Drake  |

If you say "Summon a Drake", that just begs your opponent to ask "What kind?"
Some sort of qualifier is obviously needed, but I never really thought into it more than just Ivory and White. I guess this is the same sorta dilemma that the new Hybrid Dragons introduced.
Amazon and Eldarim Dragons?
Null and Void just sound like they have dark connotations to me unfitting of the ivory plastic. Likewise, while rainbow and iridescent accurately depict what the color stands for, they say little for the color itself. You think newbies have trouble keeping the ivory and white colors straight? See what happens when you start calling the white dice Rainbow!

Gold is Gold
Silver is Silver.....

Well, I always used the color name.
No Fire Dragonkin or Water Dragon or anything else was necessary yet.
I think I remember some players to define Ivory (the Amazons) as "Flesh" (since it was - and still is - the only humanoid lifeform in Esfah). I thought it was still considered as flesh now.
In that case you'd summon a Flesh Dragon ===> weird!
Using the colors flows very well when summoning a dragon, I think.
Considering the hybrids it'll get even more difficult. I summon a fire/death dragon to your terrain!? Hmmmm.....
Furthermore, if you start to call single-colored dragons by their elements, then you gotta do that with artifacts, magic items and - as mentioned above - with dragonkin as well!?
On the other hand, I must admit it sounds a little more threatening to summon a Deathfire Dragon!
(Firewater Dragon would rather tempt you to order another drink, LOL, sorry 'bout this rather flat joke!)
If I had to vote, I'd vote for the color names. _________________

|

As I think has been pointed out before in the SFR forums, just about every freakin' species on Esfah is made of flesh. What do you think elves are made from? Candy or somethin'?
Thus, Ivory != Flesh.
Treefolk, Scalders, and certain Undead are the only non-monster exceptions I can think of.
And no, Amazons are not the only humanoid species. Anything with a human-like shape (head, torso, two arms, and two legs) is humanoid, which does fit every species released -- even the Feral. Amazons are just the only humans, which is why they are also called as -- gasp, shock, lo and behold! -- the humans.
Back to the colors, Gold is Gold and Silver is Silver, true, so that would work for Ivory, too, since Ivory is an actual material. However, White isn't, so even if there is a solution for one, the other half of the problem is still at large. _________________ Dragon Dice Musing and Such @ Reality's End |

As I think has been pointed out clearly in my post I was quoting other players.
Next time I will put it in " for you so that even you, the master of replying to half read and understood posts, get it!
So why don't you go back to read that original post I was talking of and stop annoying me (and others) with your offending, arrogant, overselfconfident (to say the least!) and often personally attacking posts.
I had made up my mind about you even before you replied to any of MY posts, just by reading what you posted as replies to other's posts, and you certainly even exceeded my expectations.
You should IMMEDIATELY work on improving your tone here.
Your posts give this forum a bitter taste so that I seriously wonder if it is a good idea to point people to this forum.
To be honest, if I was a newbie, peeking in here to check out the forum, I would probably never sign up and just take the information I need about the game. I was very annoyed when I came back from Africa and the first thing I read was your mental ejaculations!
Your insulting way of answering posts of other members, and the way you work hard on letting everybody else seem to be as friggin' stupid as a slice of bread, does surely everything else but incouraging new people to join.
I think it's about time that somebody tells you. You are a standard topic in PMs and private e-mails between members! And judging your obvious state of mind this probably even makes you proud!
As far as I am concerned, you are disqualified!

Prismatic Dragon might work for the White Dragon.
here is why......
since the White Dragon Breath has Terrain Empathy....
basically a prism breaks up light into rainbow colors.
Depending how the prism is rotated in the light.....
the color spectrum can vary,
thus emulating terrain empathy.

This topic has gotten increasing off-topic. The personal attacks (aka flaming) are over the top. I've moved this entire topic to off-topic because of this.
I don't mind if people disagree, that's what makes a discussion worthwhile. But there are civil ways to disagree and uncivil ways to disagree. I want to see the civil ways used. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Steve? Joe? Who wants to make the first joke about summoning a Flesh Wyrm against some helpless amazons. |
Too easy. Making a joke where people think one couldn't possibly be, that's where the real challenge is.
I have learned one thing though, and that is that I never want to get on Deeghter's bad side. _________________ The Maj

Don't worry, that's a big exception to the rule! And you're getting badly suntanned on my sunny side anyway
Generally there's very, very rare tiny clouds covering Deeghters sunny nature.

Well, I'm in the middle of new teacher orientation (just got a regular music job-no more subbing!), so the tower won't be turning until next week. However, I already know some of the plot twists to come... _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun
