We will be at GenCon in 2006. We have already put down a deposit on a booth for GenCon 2006. GenCon in 2006 will be on August 10-13. So mark your calendars now!

Does that mean you won't be at Origins?

We were not really at Origins last year. At least not with a booth. It's quite simple why. A booth at Origins costs about the same as one at GenCon. However, the attendance at Origins is about 1/3 to 1/2 as much as GenCon. With them only about a month apart, it's just not going to work. Even worst problem with GenCon SoCal. A booth there actually costs more than GenCon Indy, but attendance is about 20% of Indy.

The crews that ran (or ran away with) the games at Origins last year, is going to GenCon this year. So no one really wanted to run anything there.

So the simple answer is "yes", we won't be at Origins.

I was just looking thru the event catalog and noticed that Battlefest is listed twice: TCG00198 and TCG00203

Both listings are for the same date/time. Which one is the correct one to sign up for?

I also noted that the event catalog lists each event as four hours long while the SFR website lists each event as five hours long.

Looks like TCG00203 is a duplicate. I've asked to have it deleted. So Brad that's the one for you to sign up for. Mr. Green

If you look at the events on the GenCon website, you'll see that each event (except for Novice) has 5-6 hours between them. I'd like the extra hour to run the event. However, GenCon charges $1.50 for each two hours of the event or faction thereof. So if we setup it up as a 5 hour event, it would cost $4.50. As a 4 hour event it costs $3. So some of our events will run a little late. Wink

Are you guys going to be at the SoCal one this year? If not, are there going to be any events for DD? I just learned how to play at Gen Con Indy and would like a chance of playing it again.

Thanks

Hey Chuck, don't you think this topic should be de-announced? GenCon 2006 was over a year ago.
