Just wanted to confirm:

Mutation happens during the initial effects phase of my turn. Every army I have can mutate up to three health-worth of units using units in my opponent(s)'s reserves (three armies on the table = 3 x 3 mutating, respectively promoting or both).
All mutations work simultaneously, which means I cannot choose one three-health-unit in my opponent's reserve, his unit saves (=mutation fails) and my second army chooses the same three-health-unit again to attempt another mutation (no other units in any other reserves), right?
All mutating armies must choose their "victims" at the same time, hence if there's only the above mentioned one three-health-unit available in one opponent's reserves, then only one of my armies can attempt the mutation.

Second question:

If there's only one 4-health-unit available in my opponents reserves, no mutation can be attempted, right?

Only one army can mutate.

If your opponents only have 4-health units in reserve, then you cannot mutate (you must target 3 health or less).

All right, thanx! I guess I got a little confused with the older version of the Swampie-rules. Embarassed

And no mutation by 4-health-units was logical anyway, I expected that!

The conditions for mutation are:
  1. At least one dead Swampstalker
  2. At least one Swampstalker in an army at a terrain
  3. At least one opponent with units in reserves
If all the conditions above are true, then you may attempt to mutate up to three health. Any units that do not save are dead. You may bring back Swamp Stalkers up to the number of health that failed their save. Those units can be placed at any army at any terrain that has at least one Swamp Stalker. They do not have to be placed at one army, and you do not have to declare which army they will go to before the mutation attempt. Also note, even if you only have one health of dead Swamp Stalkers, you still get to attempt to kill three health via mutation.

If you have an all Swamp Stalker monster army,
can you mutate?...that is...
can you attempt to mutate?

ie you have a Swamp Stalker monster in your DUA, and your opponent has a Rare in thier reserves,
in this case can you attempt to mutate,
killing the rare,
but just not being able to bring in any health, since the limit is 3 health.

read the conditions. You've met all of them, you can mutate.
