The shipping isn't so bad. But the starting bid? Rare and Ultra-Rare? Where? Not a single rare let alone an ultra-rare. Clueless git.
Normally I don't let people post about eBay auctions here, but this one is just way over the top. Take a look you selves people. See how not to run an auction.

Yep, I've noticed that too. A small amount above the actual shipping costs is fine (for packing materials and such). I've sold a few things here and there, so I know that sometimes extra costs can occur. Some people, however, add on extra to the shipping costs to "avoid" paying ebay's fees and to make extra money on the sale.
The moral of the story is to check over carefully the shipping costs and factor that into the total amount you are willing to bid. |

Sorry Chuck I know EBay items are not allowed on the Forum but I thought everybody had to see this one
I would never advertise my 'For Sale' web page - now that would be really against the rules _________________ DDice Count: 0, Nil, Zilch, None |

I seen that to. It has to be a type-o, I just can't believe there is anybody out there that ridiculous who thinks they will get a bid on that auction! |

What really perplexes me is that in his other auction (the one that has a starting bid of "only" $100!) he states that he was a former TSR employee. You would think that if he actually was, he would at least have a clue as to the value of his dice.
When I came across this auction initially, I was almost moved to the point of writing the guy an email, but thought better of it.

Actually, that does not surprise me at all. Most of the TSR employees had little or nothing to do with Dragon Dice™. Most only worked on Dungeons and Dragons related material.
And I'll just leave with one other comment. He would not be the first former TSR employee that grossly over-prices Dragon Dice™ thru cluelessness. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

While we are chatting about EBay I thought I may take the opportunity to 'vent my angst' at American sellers. Dragon Dice are very collectable but only a select few in the world that collect Dragon Dice. DOH!
The UK market is very short of these dice and will pay up to double the worth (If you consider the £/$ right now then USA sellers can't lose). EBay (automatically) or the seller places an huge shipping fee which makes them worthless to a UK collector. But ALL the UK collectors have been shipping dice across the pond for many years and know that it only costs a fraction of this price. So.... If sellers in the USA where to be honest with the shipping fees then they would get double the price for the dice. This far out weighs the cost of the EBay fees on the sale etc etc !!! Gripe over
Thanks for listening ! _________________ DDice Count: 0, Nil, Zilch, None |

I am sorry to hear that. Please note that ALL SFR orders that ship internationally are done as cheaply as possible (with out taking 5 months to arrive.) Anytime that an order paid more than $2 than it cost me to ship it I refund the money. Doesn't happen much but will on occasion. I have noticed the the post office does charge quite a bit to ship overseas and I wish there was a way to lower that cost to the players.

And I think we will agree that the SFR shipping from Miss Tiffany and Co. is probably the best in the world _________________ DDice Count: 0, Nil, Zilch, None |

I think it was made much worse when the USPS changed their shipping prices/services back in, what, April this year? There used to be a fantastic all-you-can-stuff-into-an-envelope rate for about $9 called Global Priority, with a speedy shipping time (less than a week most times). You could get a lot of dice in one of those babies as long as you wernt fussed about niceities such as retail boxes (ie you just wanted the dice in the bag ).
I'd bought a great number of my bulk dice from the US via that method and found no problems getting sellers to switch to that method (many years ago before SFR was even formed, I'd like to point out )
Alas, those times have gone and (relatively speaking) the shipping can cost a fortune, especially when you account for customs and admin charges at this end (which is a whole different rant!). I will agree, however, that Miss Tiffany and Co do a great job of helping keep those extraneous costs down, for which we're all exceeding grateful |

Now, all we need is for someone to think SFR-Europe is a good business venture, and we're sorted... |
