I noticed a few errors when going through the spells download linked on the main site.

Spells Sheet (2page document) - Undead - Black Fade, line right under Fade, is 0can't, 0 needs to be deleted.

I also found a spelling error in the main rules, but for the life of me I cannot find it again. It's on a line right below another containing the same word a couple of times. The word is missing a vowel (an A I think). But for the life of me I cannot find it. I bet spell check would bring it up asap.

Also, since I know chuck will read this - is there a non-pdf version somewhere of the rules I can snag? I wouldn't mind playing with text size, indentions, and groupings to make it a bit more readable. Ie the examples I'd probably play with smaller text grouped distinctly from the main rule body. It's a bit confusing now since the examples and rules are very similar in formatting/size/placement. I might also play with deleting all examples, to sort of get a more concise set of rules.

Lastly, I have this nice binder with the rules (in plastic sleeves no less!), I'd like to stick a nice Dragon Dice logo page in the front pocket - are there any higher quality graphics available for Dragon Dice, SFR, etc?

I thought I fixed the one-page spell list months ago... Hmm. I did, but forgot to upload it to the website. Embarassed

I ran the spell check on the main rules again, none found. Actually it found lots of errors, but mostly just words not in it's dictionary.

The main rules are in Adobe InDesign. No, I'm not going to convert that to another format (other than PDF). Due to copyright issues, I can't release that file to anyone that does not own at least 1000 shares of stock. Ok, I'm kidding about the stock. But I have a serious problem with official looking rules that are not official rules.

As for the logo there are some great items from Cafepress with our logo on them.... Ok, let me see what I can do. I can't release the high-quality graphics we normally use for our logo for two reasons. First, they are too big to put on the website, they would take up about 25% of our available space. Second, copyright issues again.

Gah!

My eyes glaze over on large sections of the rules nowadays after reading them so much recently for nuances and to check combos, which makes it harder to re-discover that mistake (although it was on the 11th hour of my 12hr shift a few nights ago - so I could've been mistaken).

On the rules thing - I guess take this as a request, when in a case of extreme boredom, to do something to separate the examples a bit more from the main rules. My idea was a font size smaller, and to make the example text fit in a space less wide on both sides than the main text.

As far as the logo thing, thanks for considering, I think the box logos via a camera may work well along with the SFR on the forum.

My end goal was just a professional looking binder for games.

The only thing you could do (for your own personal use only of course) is to copy and paste the text from the pdf to a word processor. You could then format it however you like.

True, but I'm not too keen on changing formats of a document on which a copyright owner has already mentioned the term "copyright", especially to use it in place of the official document. Not that I think SFR exactly has a legal team ready to jump on me, but it's their wish obviously, and I'm fine with it.

Actually it is a point smaller. Most of the text is 10-point, the examples are all 9-point. It's fairly easy to change in InDesign, because I have a paragraph rule defined for it (roughly equal to the styles in Word). Maybe it needs to be two points smaller.

I went through my printout last night, and crossed out all the story text, and put parentheses in the margins around the examples, which makes them stand out from the main text.

Shh... Not so loud. Steve and Joe are going to get upset that you killed their story. Of course, it would be nice if they finished it someday...... Mr. Green

You CROSSED OUT THE STORY TEXT???!!! And Joe was really going to finish the story soon, too. (Right, Joe? After all, I'm busy with "As the Tower Turns"... Very Happy )

Of course, now that you've done that, you won't be able to reference the super-secret power rule buried in the flavor text... Mr. Green

And we may just have to ban you from Steve & Joe's World, too...

Of course, I read it as I was crossing it out! It was so fascinating, it distracted me from the rules! (Which is why I had to cross it out!)
