Saves you need, saves you shall have: missile, magic, missile, magic, Dispel Magic, Dispel Magic, ID, ID, maneuver.

2 saves plus Watery Double = 3

Looks like you are taking 14 damage (sorry!)

Let me know if you want me to roll a counter-attack.

While I'm hoping this wins the game, if it doesn't, I just want to point out to Cliff that I did not put a Wall of Thorns on his army. I could have.... Very Happy

Biggest problem is there is no reason at all to take a Frontier terrain. Doesn't count to a win, and it just ties up your forces. I have no problem with the winning condition being: At least one home, and one other terrain. Then you could take a Frontier and a home to win.

Second problem, but most likely a minor one, a Tower should be able to hit any terrain. I have no problem with a Frontier only reaching all the other Frontiers, and the associated home, but not the other homes. But you'll notice how much in fear we were of Cliff's Amazon missile.....

To be honest: In my opinion this variation is obsolete!
Too many terrains available but frontiers don't make sense unless you can use a tower to missile ALL terrains.
Well, if one would increase the number of terrains necessary to win to ... let's say three, then it might be very challenging, but probably unplayable with a 36 health army (not enough units) and it probably would last a year (online).

As intriguing as it seems to play for three terrains and a long range tower, I would prefer the standard game.

I enjoyed this game (but not my stupid mistakes) and again I learned a lot and found out the weakness of my army (which I actually expected anyway).

This format might work if you left the standard rules intact.
any 2 terrains to win...
keep the frontiers the same...
can missile to any home...and homes can missile any frontier

Towers can missile any home.

we had to play it to see how it worked.

the only way i can see it helping is if we played with more health and had a maximum army size. i.e. force people to have more armies and not just win the way chuck did.

or we jsut let it die.

One thing I kept thinking was...
I wanted to just shift my frontier army over to another frontier ..without going to the reserves. (like a terrain flight)
