Hey,

I noticed that the description for the Monsters Only tournament on this web site and the description of the Misfit Monsters game on the GENCON site have subtle but important differences. Which description is the correct one?
That is, are duplicate dice, trolls, fire shadows and the Phoenix allowed?

While I'm at it: are DragonKin and minor terrains allowed?
It seems they are, (No non-monsters in the starting army or words to that effect) but I want to be sure. Less dice to lug around.

I'll have to fix the website description. The GenCon event description is correct. Dragonkin and minor terrains are never part of the starting army anyway. So yes they are allowed. Compare that to Single Race, which says no Magestorm.

Website has now been updated. I had a bunch of things wrong. Player's Choice has been updated to show that Equalfest is the tournament type. GenCon event numbers added to each title.

Just clarify, the white dragon is still considered a promo and thus noot legal in single race, right? but ivories are ok...

Anything that is in the "Advanced Rules" is a promo. Ivory is in the basic rules (and the starters) so is fine.

Ok, we are getting very close to show time at GenCon 2008. I'm going to put up here the assignments as I see it for GenCon:

Booth: Tiffany (sales), Cliff (demos and questions), Chuck (questions and demos), Jim (demos on Friday)
Events: Brad (Tournament manager, running: Single Race, No Magicians, and Misfit Monsters)

So we still people to help with:

Novice events: Thursday-Saturday: 10am - noon, 4pm-6pm, 7pm-9pm, Sunday: 10am-noon
Player's Choice: Thursday: noon-4pm
Sealed Box: Friday: 6:30pm to 9:30pm
World Championship: Noon-4pm
Battlefest: 6:30pm-9:30pm

We could always use more help with demos at the booth.

If I missed someone, please let me know. If you can help out with an event, let me or Brad (piMaster) know.

MissTiffany will not be playing in any events this year. So she can 'manage' the sealed box and magestorm event as far as setting up pairs and timers, but we will have to setup the 3judge system for any rulings... Cliff,Chuck,Brad makes the most sense.

Does the fact that I'm not listed for anything mean that I don't have to work? I figured I would be spending most of my time judging events like I have the past few years. My plan was to play in Battlefest and Sealed.

I am more than willing to do timing and doing the pairings for any and all evening events just do not have the knowledge to make rulings so if there are enough of you to do the rulings then I am fine with that. I will be there with Cliff each night so not a problem at all.

I may make a few extra Army Cards for the Sealed Deck game...
with the GenCon 2008 on it...

Well I don't know how to contact anyone...

trouble....
tried to print the blood card....ran out of ink.. Rolling Eyes

but the real dilemma is my car broke..
and I'm scheduled to work on Friday doing the booth demo... Confused

So I may have to cancel my hotel,
in order to pay for my repair.

I still might make it, if it's just a simple repair...
right now I'm waiting for a tow. Neutral
