We're trying to update the racial descriptions. I'll start a thread for each race in the "Game Strategy" topic. This thread is for general talk about the racial description pages. Good examples of things to discuss: How should the dice IDs be shown, what information should be included. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I think you should write the unit descriptions from the rule folders to the units.
I like the idea to show the strength and weakness for each single unit, and writing the fictional background would be great. |

Dan is doing a terrific job of describing the races and basic strategy.
If you want to add a tricks section,
as I feel many of the tactics the races really employ are not covered, then I'll take part in that...
otherwise just leave it as a forum thing. |

There should be mention of magical items...
although not a race...
I feel that lack of mention based on the fact that they are not a race is misleading...
as if a person were to go the the website to design an army, they should be presented with magical items as an option.
The reason I say this is because I was one of those persons...and found little or no mention from the previous webdesign. |

I also found it useful to see actual Championship armies posted on the old web site.
This bring up an important point I would like to make to all Dragon Dice Players.
It may seem I am full of banter and exesive posting...
but in all escence i have been instructed to do so..
indierctly that is.
I have contacted a few Champions, and recived some private training.
This was very useful.
It was also suggested to post inquiries...and the forum would answer them.
This however has been the place of difficulty, as I am seen as a nusiance...when in reality..I'm just following orders.
So if the new site could have useful teaching methods...then it would greatly reduce the bad play, and inquires....and newer amies could be developed with fresh ideas.
All I want to do is learn about Dragon Dice...
and sadly there is no instructional training, lessons or even much data on winning armies.
This lack of information, seems to be for several reasons.
1. fear that someone might learn their secrets...
I say bunk...teach the people...don't shroud them.
2. fear that someone might copy their winning army...again bunk
let the players learn from success...don't hide it from them.
3. maybe nobody thinks it's important...or just don't have time....
again bunk
the web site is the main link for new players...give them more than they could possibly want...
I know I seached forever on the web..
and found nothing...
however,
Champions like Mark A. Wiker have their amies posted...along with stats..
so for this reason alone I have followed Mark.
4. Let the players know how tournaments are run...and how few matches they need to actually play to win...
this will help them construct armies suited for the tournaments...
instead of being floored and blinded from lack of knowledge.
Again
I'm posting this for the good of all...
not to be a pain...like I seem to think I am taken as.
It's that one tiny voice that says...yeah that's what I thought too..
to make the larger group listen and believe.
So inform the people.
I had to work hard for the information I found...
and I post anything good in tips and tricks for everyone to use.
Chess games are not won mby grandmasters for lack of knowledge...
many games end up in a draw becuase of this...
with dice...a good or bad roll could open the doors...
so just having knowlegde won't ensure you victory...
you will still need to play the game...but lack of knowledge will surley insure defeat. |

Jim,
Thank you! I agree with you 100%. I have looked long and hard as well to find winning armies and tips, but it seems that most people are unwilling to fully disclose their strategies and tips out of fear of giving away their "secrets". Come on, it's a game of chance, it's a dice game. The best "well laid plans" are worthless if you don't get the right roll of the dice. I've won games based on one element, and I got the right roll. I've lost more games because I didn't (get the right roll). The best thing about this game is that there seem to be endless possibilities for strategy and army construction. In short, you'll win some, you'll lose some, but you will learn alot (if you choose). I share, you share, we all become better players and enjoy the game even more (if that were possible).
I've been trying to come up with the words for an "Introduction" of sorts for our website project, but I'm not very good at writing, as you can probably tell, so, what I told you, is the best advice I could think of.
Thanks again Jim,
Keep up the good, hard work, it is appreciated!!
I bow to you!
Sincerely,
Dave _________________ Rep (director) |

Well, not that I'm trying to put you guys off, but I've never had anyone ask me on the forums. I've had people ask on the old mailing list, and I always put the army up along with some tips for playing with that army.
I'm a bit busy right now (camping trip this weekend, business trip next week), so I can't promise I'll get it done soon. But I'll post my Battlefest army up as soon as I can. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
