|
|
We've talked about this already somewhere else but I just wanted to pick it up again.
Have you (SFR) in the meanwhile thought about releasing new dice bags with the new starters? New SFR dice should be kept in SFR pouches, right??
If so, how about dice bags in either the races' colors or at least in all five elemental colors (incl. black, which actually isn't an element) plus ivory for "flesh" (Amazons)??
I always wondered why there were only four dice bag colors for a game based on five colors (Six, after Amazons got introduced).
But Bags in races' colors (merled) would be extremely cool!
You could use fabric or linen instead of leather, that would be cheaper and easier to produce. Leather - of course - is more durable and looks much better , and on leather it's easier to reproduce the proper colors (compared to rough fabric surfaces).
If you fold them once, then they should fit into the new smaller kicker boxes without any problem.
Maybe CafePress could........????? I know that they have a fixed sortiment, but.......???? _________________

We will not come out with dice bags in the new starters. However, we could consider the dice bags as an accessory. If we could find somewhere like CafePress to make them, then it's a done deal. Otherwise, we have to look at the cash we have, and what our customers want the most... _________________ You can never have too many dice.

The original four bags match the original four races. If you notice the string color you have red&gold, Black&red, Black&Gold, Blue&green. Just like the elder races. |

Providing dice bags is a nice idea, but most other CDGs did not come with dice bags. (Rolled Bones had big cloth bags, but they weren't specific to that game.) I think dice bags might prove to be better as a later accessory product, rather than being provided with the starters. _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

yes, you're probably right! On one hand it's cool to buy a new game and get a cool bag with it but on the other hand you'll never need as many bags as starterboxes. One day you end up with a lot of bags just lying around.
I've got twelve in use (12 races=12 armies with 36hp), the rest of them is in a box.
Offering them as accessories sounds good to me. _________________

Yes, and I was always annoyed that the later races didn't get matching bags too. Or at least let there have been a green bag . I'm fussy that way.
I'd be very excited if SFR sold some good-quality (read: closeable, unlike the leather ones that cannot be pulled tight) DD bags, especially if they came in 5-12 colors. Alternatively, some kind of box. Whatever it is, a good way of storing both armies and a huge collection would be great. Currently large Ziploc bags are the best I can do, and they suck. _________________ Designer of Hybrid Dragon Breaths, the Enchant Element spell, new colored Dragonkin Breaths, and various homebrew races and dragons. Dice bags don't do a thing for huge collections, I know for sure. I use the old dice bags to carry an army around (in an old Battle Box of course).
As for SFR selling bags like that, it would only happen if Cafepress or the like started selling bags that we could customize. Otherwise it costs too much. I've priced it. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

they came as we all have seen!
however shouldn't they be in the special offers section for the loyals first before opening up to the general public?
as the idea of getting special treatment makes customers feel special. _________________ tumble tumble little dice, look at that I'll strike you twice |

Maybe, but its too late now. They've been online publicly for over a week and we haven't run out yet.
but when we do, I can't promise we will reprint them! _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Old thread I ran across, I know. But is there a way I can see one, or even maybe so, how to obtain one? _________________ Will

You can always make the bag your self? I know you want the sfr logo but if ya need abag to carry particular armies, I would just make one |

Well like Chuck said unless there is a way to produce them cheaply i dont see an option. However an idea is to take some suede or fake leather make a bag out of it of the color of your choosing. Then make a stencil for race of the army that iwll be contained in the bag and perhaps an SFR logo stencil. But again this is FAR from cheap or productive. But its something you could do on your own. I am planning on making my own. |

The SFR logo is centered,
and it looks good when the bag is unfilled,
however,
if we lower the logo it will show better when there are dice in the bag.
I've seen other bags position their image lower probably for this reason.
The bag could be smaller too,
as it holds allot of dice,
way more than a battlefest army. |
