I read the rules and see magic points value calculation. I was under the impression that for magic points the healthe value is used but it seems that you can have for instance in a 36 point army 12 points of magic devided over 14 or even more points of health. Depending on the race or monsters.
Well this is to me a fuzzy point but I couldn't find a similar topic with the search function.

This is listed in the rules under "Step 1: Decide Total Force Size"
Except for Monsters, Artifacts, and the Undead Vampire, all dice with a magic icon count as their health size toward the number of "mages". So a common with a magic icon counts as 1, an uncommon as 2, etc. The Undead Vampire while it is 3 health, only counts as 2 health of mage. Monsters and artifacts are a little more complicated. If the die has a Cantrip or a SAI icon that can be used for magic (Create Fireminions for example), that counts as 2. If if has magic icons each one counts as 1. If the mage count is more than 4, then the die counts as 4.
For example: the Firewalker Salamander has a Cantrip and one magic icon. So it counts as a 3-health mage. The Feral Bear-Folk has a single magic icon, so it counts as a 1-health of mage. The Magic Carpet has a single magic icon, so it counts as 1-health of mage. The Firewalker Fireshadow has a Cantrip (2 points), 2 Create Fireminions (2 points each), for a total of 6. Since the maximum is 4, the Fireshadow counts as a 4-health mage. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

does this calculation hold true for artifacts also, and what of the Bronze medalion and its 1 face cantrip..does it count as 4 pts or 2 when calculating magic users? Also the dragon lord (or is it the master that has 1 face of cantrip) is it couted as 4 or 2?
has someone made a comprehensive list somewhere of the "magic pt value" of all units able to cast magic? thanks, Egg _________________ "Another days useless energy spent." Moody Blues |

Yes and no. It's only true for the three types of dice. The Undead Vampire, artifacts, and monsters.
The Dragonlord and Dragonmasters are powerful enough that we don't have to count them as less than full health mages. Same for the Bronze Medallion. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
