If I read the rules correctly, a player is allowed to bring one Dragonlord and one Dragonmaster of each color per 24 health in his army - and one each of the six colors of Eldurim equals 24 health. So, unless I've erred, an army consisting solely of six Eldarim is possible in a 24-health game. And I'm thinking they might just be rather effective there; sure there's a substantial Lightning Strike risk, but apart from this they would seem to be thin on vulnerabilities.
Start the game with two on each terrain, then pull them to reserve on your first turn, bring them back at whatever terrain is closest to 8 and least defended, slaughter opponents as necessary, seize the terrain, then cast magic until you're blue in the face. Spend your four-point spells dissuading your opponent, and whenever the Dragonlord hits ID or Cantrip, combo him with whatever Dragonmaster also produced magic, summon an ivory dragon to plunk down on the terrain, then tame it and use it as a bodyguard. Repeat this process until all the dragons in the game are your love slaves and the whole board is crawling with your lizardly minions; take as long as you want Fingering (of Death) your opponents into oblivion while they hide in the reserves, and claim victory without ever leaving the adopted home of your six-man slaughter brigade.
Has this plan been tried? How'd it go? _________________ Designer of Hybrid Dragon Breaths, the Enchant Element spell, new colored Dragonkin Breaths, and various homebrew races and dragons. If you want to know where to find them...good luck, I don't remember anymore. |

A Dragonlord with different colored Dragonmasters army is fragile. As long as it doesn't suffer any casualties, it's alright. Lose 2 Dragonmasters, and now it's nearly impossible to bring back units. Getting those 4 resuration spells needed to bring one back is very hard when the magic is generated as 4 (or 2 for the Dragonmaster logo), and different colors.
Eldarim champions are tough at melee. They suck at missile. They are only so-so at magic. They are also on the low side with maneuvers. So if all the terrains come up low, they are in trouble. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I have played against the all Master army and I've played against the all Slayer army.
I have also played both armies...
Phillip loved to do this back when Sneak Attack was more powerful than it is today, so I have lots of experience with it.
I'd much rather play LavaElf or Goblin's if I was trying to win. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

The results of the poll flabbergast me. Sure, the six-slayers army doesn't have much going for it, but you'd seriously rather play NOTHING but commons? Whatever, man, I'd be bored out of my skull. Commons are efficient, but they don't DO anything. I'd rather risk the random rolls of a smaller number of dice that have SAIs and such. _________________ Designer of Hybrid Dragon Breaths, the Enchant Element spell, new colored Dragonkin Breaths, and various homebrew races and dragons.
