If I do a bit of Dragon Dicing at either Minicon (April) or Convergence (July) here in Minnesota, will anybody show? _________________ Designer of Hybrid Dragon Breaths, the Enchant Element spell, new colored Dragonkin Breaths, and various homebrew races and dragons. If you want to know where to find them...good luck, I don't remember anymore. |

Maybe. Post exact dates and it's easier for people to respond. While I know what both conventions are about, most would not. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Minicon is April 11-13, Convergence is July 3-6. Both are at the Sheraton hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota, a stone's throw (from a Tower face) from the Mall of America. _________________ Designer of Hybrid Dragon Breaths, the Enchant Element spell, new colored Dragonkin Breaths, and various homebrew races and dragons. what is the primary focus of each Con?
I've been to a minicon in oklahoma before, it was just an extended V:TG gaming group. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Both are fairly generalist cons, Minicon being smaller and more laid back; little bit of gaming, little bit of movie-watching, but mostly panel discussions, munching and general socializing. Convergence is where the costumes, multimedia, and occasional pockets of sexual deviance come into play; it's Minnesota's largest convention these days (Minicon originally was, but fractured a decade ago to produce Convergence and another small, family-friendly con called Marscon).
If you have to travel any distance, I'd say Minicon is less likely to be worth the trip, unless you're of one mind with the folks who broke it down back in the day because it was getting too huge and too crazy, resulting in the eventual formation of Convergence as its huge and crazy replacement.
I have responsibilities both cons, but Convergence in particular I should be able to find time for at least one Dragon Dice game, although I dont' know if I want to make it an official scheduled event. _________________ Designer of Hybrid Dragon Breaths, the Enchant Element spell, new colored Dragonkin Breaths, and various homebrew races and dragons.
