Hello everyone. Imagine my surprise to learn this game still exists after 13+ years. I was digging around in my attic and came across a box of dice. I pulled it out and one google search later here I am!
I'd like to fill out a few gaps in my collection. I also have plenty of spares and some promo dice as well. I'm going for 2 rares, 4 uncommon, 8 common, and one each of the monsters. Since I haven't played in a while someone let me know if this is not a good way to collect an army and I can adjust my listing.
I have a lot from the initial runs... goblins, elves, dwarves, undead, amazon... after that my collection slowed down. Feel free to fill any gaps to my collection based upon the information below.

That seems like a good place to start. Everyone has their own opinion on what a playable set is. Personally, I'd probably bump it up to 4 rares, 6 uncommons, 12 commons, and two of each monster. You'll also want two of each terrain die.

I'm tempted to say they are Dragonkin Champions. However, if you truely got them in '93 or '94, then they cannot be anything related to Dragon Dice, since Dragon Dice was released in 1995.

In that case, you should use DD Inventory to keep track of your dice. See this thread for download links: http://sfr-inc.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2079
Also, be sure to get the latest version of the rules: http://www.sfr-inc.com/StarterRules.pdf |

I like this size. This is what my set is. Except I collect 3 of each monster, not 2. I am not sure why you would only collect 2 of each monster going this route. Not only does collecting 3 of each monster keep the total values per die the same (12 health each), but it also works as far as getting "at least one of everything". For example, since there are 3 different versions of Unseelie Faeries available (released to the general public... TSR, SFR, SFR Promo), it allows you to (try) to get one of each variation to meet the 3-of-each-monster collection strategy.
Now if I could just find that third UF (TSR of course!)...

I was proposing this as a set for army building, as opposed to pure collecting. You don't generally use very many monsters in armies, and only specialized (or very large) armies would use more than two of any particular monster.

That's assuming that Jon-Paul actually cares about collecting every variety of every die in existance. Perhaps he does, perhaps he doesn't. In any event, I'm sure his collection (like most of ours) will exceed 12 health of a particular die soon enough |

All good advice, thanks. I doubt i'll be playing so having a tournament-ready collection isn't very likely. No-one to my knowledge plays in my area (northern Utah). I tried emailing the rep but the email came back as undeliverable.
Maybe I'm just better off selling it? |

klepto,
A couple of quick suggestions (if I may), (1) Check out the "Looking for other DD players" thread here on the forum. (I had the same problem you have, until I posted there. 3 people responded, and now we have a group that meets at least once a month.) I think that there was someone else in northern Utah looking for players, I think it was "thundercat427". (2) pimaster's Inventory program is awesome!! It also shows pictures/descriptions of the different variants of certain dice. Speaking of variants, I'm surprised that shoesan hasn't asked you about the 2 DragonLords that you have for trade, so I'll ask. What variants are the DragonLords?
I hope you find someone in your area.
Thank you for your time,

Doah! Yeah, what he said! What variations do you have? (I don't think I will ever find the one I am looking for...) _________________ Shoe |

variations...?
uh....
How about you tell me what to look for? Or I can take a few pics and post them. Or a link to the inventory program?
I think I'll hang onto my collection for now and just have enough of each race to play, so send in those trade offers!
I didn't realize there were "super rares" of anything like the coral giant monster, so I guess I can scratch having a complete race off my wish list. (I really hate collectable games sometimes...) |

ok, the white (ivory?) dragonlord is TSR variation #1.
The blue and Red dragonkin champion are of the standard variety only with the TSR logo.
I could swear I had a King's die but can't seem to find it anywhere... |

I'd definitely be happy to trade with you. I have loads of Amazons and I'm looking for some stuff from the 4 first races mostly... unfortunately I'm not home for another week but I can look at my lists then if nobody helps you before that.
Anyway, I'm sure I can supply you with Amazon rares, maybe not all but quite a few. |
