We have not decided. I will not have time to go this year. If someone would like to take this on, it would have my blessing. Whether or not we could afford it, is a separate matter, and that would have to have Board of Director's approval. So if you can get some costs together, that would at least let the Board start talking about it.

As I see it, the costs are going to be: getting the booth, getting product there to show in the booth, and making up signs and the like. Note that everyone that works at GenCon pays their own way as far as transportation, hotels, and food. So we'll need some dedicated volunteers to run things. If there are tournaments run, SFR can provide prize support (surprise! special dice of course). And we always find a way to give the volunteers something special in the way of unique dice.

So are you willing to take this on? Shocked You should have know I would ask that.... Rolling Eyes

Uh, I just wandered in by accident and maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like Deeghter was asking if anyone would go to Spiel Essen, and Chuck answered that maybe SFR would be at Gen Con? I thought these were different conventions, and on different continents....

You are reading it wrong.

SFR will be at GenCon this year. We've already paid for half the cost of the booth. My only reason to mention GenCon was to point out how SFR handled the costs of GenCon. I didn't want anyone to expect more from SFR than what we can afford to provide.

I'd love to visit Germany some day, but considering what airfare costs, let alone accomodations and a few Euros to throw around in the Waffelhaus, it seems unlikely. Still, if you decide you want the designer of the Groundpounders as a guest of honor.... Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green

Yes, you've read it wrong, it was Günter (Drachenwürfel) who asked Wink

Now you know, why we Germans are hardly (if at all) seen on US conventions. It just busts the budget, even if we would be invited as "special guests", LOL.
Well, once I've won the lottery we could talk about it, LOL.

I still don't have the final costs for Eldarim. Until I have that, we can't decide on whether or not we have the budget for this.

So the cost in US$ is under $700. I'll have to involve the BoD and see what they think, but I think it's something we should try to do. We have a little time, but I'll try and get a decision in the next 3-4 weeks.

Hey guys....

well it's been about 4 weeks any judgement on the spiel Essen item?
If you get to Spiel chances are a distributor will take the dice if they sell good there.

And finally I might get some in the local store since PS-games (distibutor) will not stock them it may change their minds.

Und Jungs was sol es sein?
