So post a note on this thread if you are going to be at GenCon and want to help out. Put down anything and everything you are interesting in helping run. Don't worry that someone else has already signed up to run something. Multiple people to run an event is a good thing, then people can trade off. Also put down any conflicts that are going to happen. If you are signed up for an event, then that time is not available and we need to know.

Here's the list of things to help us out:

Demos at the booth (10am to 6pm Thur, Fri, Sat, 10am to 4pm Sun)
Sales (Tiffany will mostly cover this, but I'm sure she would like a break from time to time)
Novice Tournaments (10am Thur-Sun, 2pm Thur-Sat, 7pm Thur-Fri)
Monster Bash 100 (Thur noon)
Single Race (Thur 6pm)
No Magicians! (Fri noon)
Sealed Starter Box (Fri 6pm)
World Championship (Sat noon)
Battlefest (Sat 6pm)
Eldarim Sealed box (Sun noon)

Demos for VIG lounge. This is something new we are doing this year. I don't have details on this yet.

I'm planning on manning the booth the whole time (except for a few necessary breaks). My job is answering all the questions that people come up with. I may even do a demo or two.

I'm planning on being in:

Sealed Starter Box
Battlefest

The Pint and Wiggs families will be setting up the booth on Wednesday. Anyone that's around is welcome to help/hang out. We will also be taking down the booth on Sunday after 4pm.

As I indicated in the GenCon 2009 thread, I will volunteer to umpire the Sealed Starter Box event (Fri 6PM), and some of the Novice tournaments (and, if the all players who show up wish to, I'll run it as an intermediate). Novice event slots I can cover include: Thur 10AM & 2PM, Fri 7PM (I'm volunteering Russ to help me if I should be needed for this slot, since this will overlap the Sealed Box event).

Demo time:
Thursday: If I'm not doing the Thur 10AM or 2PM Novice event, then I'm available to Demo.
Friday: I could be available 3-5 PM (between No Magicians! and running the Sealed Starter at 6PM).
Saturday: I could be available 10-11 AM and 3-5 PM (between Worlds & Battlefest).
Sunday: Probably heading back home in the morning.

Events I would like to play, in order of my preference: World Championship (Sat 12PM), No Magicians! (Fri 12PM), Battlefest (Sat 6PM), and Single Race (Thur 6PM)

Since Dan is running Sealed Box, I'll be playing in that. Most likely we'll be able to use the 3-judge rule during Single Race and Battlefest, so I'll probably play in those events as well.

Unless someone else steps forward, I'll be running the other four events (Monster Bash 100, No Magicians!, World Championship, Eldarim Sealed).

I typically run the demo's at the booth so I can be close to Tiffany and I will usually play in the evening events that happen

I'm sad that we have no Intermediate tournaments this year. The turn out last year was small, but they were really interested new players who wanted to learn.

I'm interested in finding out what a VIG demo will look like.

On another note, we have lots of people starting to volunteer, so I think we need a single point of contact responsible for the scheduling. It can either be the rep manager or convention/events manager. which means either steve,brad,or tiffany

VIG Demo:

Ok VIG stands for
Very Important Gamers

They have a VIG lounge.
This is probably where the Dragon Dice VIG Demos will be held.
VIG members have special privilleges like front row reserved seats...
so this DEMO would most likely be a more private (VIG Members Only) DEMO

So we need a time table for the VIG Demos

I'll be happy to run one...
provided my time slot allows for this.

I had to keep my love for several game systems equal this year, so I am ONLY in 3 DD events this year...

I am in a Novice Tournament on Thursday, a Sealed on Saturday, and the release party on Sunday. Look forward to seeing you guys there.

I saw your schedule posted on the GenCon forums. I'll see you 8am thursday (assuming I get there on time - I'm usually there by 8 or earlier), and at the Dragon Dice events later on. Cool

It's called a trade bag...
just bring the dice you want to trade to GenCon...
and each person then just looks over the trade bags..then they strike a deal.

Yes, except that some of us (Cliff and myself) don't really bring extra dice. With what we have to cram into our vehicles for the booth and whatnot, we don't have room for much else. So I'll be happy to trade with anyone, but if it's not setup before GenCon, I most likely won't have the right dice there.
