A question I really HAVE to ask ... are SFR coming to Essen (Germany) this year? It's the largest convention in Europe as you probably know!

We'd love to. But the convention is very expensive. When we looked at it last year, it looked like the booth would be about $1000. But then they add on fees, and fees to the fees, etc. The cost JUST for the booth hit $3000. That's double what GenCon would cost. Add in the cost of getting product there, people there, etc. We just could not afford it.

That's in fact a scandal! I do understand you can use the company's money better.

Well you have had contact with them but that doesn't seem to be correct.

10 square metre booth is about 800 dollar excluding tax which is about 20%

http://www.internationalespieltage.de/e023.php4

what do they add on as extra's then? because if a booth was that pricey not even european vendors and dsitributors would be there

Price does not include tables or chairs, which you must get from them. It also does not include the walls around the booth which you must pay for. In all it went from about 500 euros to 1200 euros when added in all the things that for GenCon are included with the booth. GenCon is about $1600 for a booth. Period. The only cost adder we have is electricity for the booth (about another $100).

If you don't believe that, ask for a contract for the show. Then you'll get all the information that they don't tell you on the website. Frankly, I was so disgusted with that "come on" pricing I'm not sure I would want to go to that show.
