|
|
I played a game today I made each army of normal build, I think anyway. The person I was playing against had literally only rare and monster units. How do you fight 100% SAI's? I got rolled in less then 4 rounds it was ridiculous.
Also is it workable to make 3 even sized armies and not just 2 lump sums?
I have made armies for sizes ~18/9/9 and 12/12/12. The latter seems to be far better but even still its not working out. |

SAIs are powerful that's for sure. But pick and choose your armies and you can easily take out an army like that. It's most likely light on maneuvers for one thing. Lightning Strike the monsters. Use SAIs that require rolling the ID to save against, that kills monsters.
Most people start the game with 18/17/1 health. Why? You only get two marches. You want as much health as possible in each army. The trick is to figure out where to put all those. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

As a developer I hate to repeat myself, but as a forum user I know that not everyone can read every thread that happened years ago, so....
Most likely those monsters were killing you with melee based SAI's. the simple solution is not to melee them. Get them into missile range and turn them into pin cushions.
When you play a game identify your strength and their weaknesses. If their strength is bigger than your strength, then don't let them use it. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Its true it was melee, but the entire army got rolled in round 1. Literally no way to avoid that one. And it was a firewalker army w/2 fireshadows present.
The only way I can get rid of those rejects is finger of death, but at 16 pts, dang.... I wouldn't trust fearful flames on them as they save like more than 50%.
Is there a purposed future limiting of SAI's, as done w/magic? Or is it just something to have to deal with?
All is well, thanks again dudes for the swift replies. |

Actually Fireshadows don't save that well against individual targeting effects. Create Fireminon only works during an army roll. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I will argue against a ruling to find out I was the one who proposed it originally. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |
