Hello,
Calling all volunteers! We will once again be at PAX Prime in Seattle, WA. August 26th-28th.
I would like an idea of how many people will be attending and would like to help demo our favorite game! If we have enough volunteers, we might try to run a few events.
Please let me know. Very Happy
Thanks,
Dave

Hey Dpro,

I'm looking into it and will hopefully be able to register and commit to going to PAX soon. I'd be able to help at the booth for a shift or two.

Balls!

I waited too long - Looks like I'm going for Friday and Sunday. Saturday will be my "Explore Seattle" day.

But tickets are ordered.

Saturday admission tickets are sold out? Wow. I bet if Dave asks the right person he can still get you in to help....

Dave, Get a hold of Christian and tell him you are going to be an SFR Demo rep helping at the table.

normal badges are probably gone, but he should be able to get you a badge of some type.

I live in Seattle and would love to join you guys at PAX Prime or get together with you after the event. (If we meet outside of PAX, the first round is on me!)

I don't have admission to PAX though, so I don't know what my odds are of seeing you there. Any suggestions? In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't actually played the game since 1996, so I'd be a horrible demonstrator. At best, I'd be a sparring dummy for those who know how to play.

George,
It's great to hear from you! Very Happy I just spoke with my contact at PAX, and we may have an option (I'll have to look into it), if that doesn't work out we will just have to meet outside of the event. There should be plenty of coffee shops (how many Starbucks are there in Seattle? Laughing) or restaurants (or other) that we can find a meetup spot. It looks like I will have a good number of volunteers this year (I hope, I hope), so I should be able to break away for a bit to meet with you to discuss the new rules and changes to the game. Speaking of the rules, you might want to download the new rules from the website, to get started.

Please keep in contact with me, we'll figure something out.
Thank You for willingness to help!
This is going to be great Show! Very Happy
-Dave

Ill be there. I want to get some tourneys going POST DEMOING, i mean its not all work, its a gaming con. As mentioned ill put my 30 hours of work in.

This is not news, but I am posting to keep things global.

Will

P.S. Ill make sure to tell the new players that hybrid breath indeed tickles, and in fact moves units out of reserves! Laughing

Speaking of tourneys and prizes, I wish we had a schedule for PAX. I know we can stay after hours for just us. We could definitely do a 36 pt. one, maybe a no magestorm, no promo single race? Obviously a trade session as well. As always I need stuff, and I am not even close to the collectors level.

For fun I myself might host a 48 pt. tourney, standard rules, one of the nights. We've talked before about this one DProman, 48 pts. feels different than 36 pts. somehow, and I bet some strats would be outta wack.

Also I was thinking we could mess around with teams. I can surely come up with rounded rules and test them many a game before PAX.

The standard floor rules have a team event in them. It is an intense event because there is no table talking between partners, but a lot of meaninging eye glances...

Since two people only need two 8th faces total... the games can end really quickly if one supports the other properly.

Ah in the tourny ruled thnx. I have not yet read them through as I will do so now especially since pax is around the bend. Interesting that you are required to have spell cards.

Not required to have spell cards as such, just some way to note that spells with a duration have been cast. Post-it notes, tokens, or random scraps of paper work fine.

Ah not stiff ok. The thing about spell cards is that they slow a nice paced game down. I and DTwalkex just started using traditional D and D die for spell counters and its perfect. Ill just read the team rules then thnx for the heads up

EDIT: and you know me I have a set that match my goblins and one that matches my undead perfectly
