I'm thinking instead of demos, Let's have a tournament! What do you think?
What kind? I'm open to suggestions. Is there a favorite format?

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I was there for the grand opening.

To the two guys that demo'd the game for me while you were packing up to leave: thank you. You guys were both so friendly and energetic about the game, patiently explaining the basics to me.

I had a really great time playing, I feel like I learned a good deal of the basic rules and ideas (though there is always more to learn), but you were both so open and friendly.

Just wanted you guys to know you were appreciated. Smile

First of all;

Welcome to the Forum, Stomywaters!

The kind folks you met were no doubt Dave (dproman) and Will (Skawilly) both are super cool and enthusiastic players of the game. Dave himself has been the Washington Rep for Dragon dice for quite some time (and is actually the head of the Rep program), Will is about the most die-hard player of Dragon Dice you may ever meet, but at the same time, is also a good sport and great at teaching the game.

Chad and I had to leave after the tournament, but, if you get a chance, you should definitely check out Monday Night Melee at Guardian Games in Portland - it's a weekly Dragon Dice meetup that I got rolling a few weeks back, also, there has been a Monthly Sunday Dragon Dice meetup for years, and it's quite awesome as well. Both can be found on Meetup.com http://www.meetup.com/boardgames-412/.

A direct link to the next local dragon dice event can (usually) be found in my signature, so that's another way to find out what's coming up.

May your dice roll you to glory,
Katsu, aka, Elyiot

Thanks for the welcome! They were both really awesome guys and I had a lot of time.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to Guardian Games. For no other reason than the gas it takes, and the fact that I loathe Portland. If there were a weekly thing in Vancouver, I'd be happy to attend!

Hey there Dave! Really glad to hear this turned out so nicely. Well done! Mr. Green

Hello Stormywaters! Wink

Welcome to Dragon Dice --- this game collects the best players, actually.

Cheers!
