The official tournament rules are here. Go down to the formats section and you'll see the swiss rules called out there. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I have a question and I'm not 100% sure this is the best place to ask but since it involves Gen Con, I'll ask.
How open are people to letting others borrow their dice? I know in heroScape tourneys we borrow each other's figures all the time. If I need one unicorn or fireshadow or something and don't own one, are people usually OK with letting others borrow from their collection (assuming they asked ahead of time)? _________________ HeroScape - Tree Town Open Champion (2008, 2016), Nebraska Skirmish Champion (2008, 2010) GenCon LightWeight Champion (2009), GenCon General Wars (Aquilla Champion 2009) GenCon Unique Hero Champion (2009, 2010)

I know that doesn't go in this topic, but I will split it off once it matures a bit.
This is something that just needs to be decided between players.
We are a nice group of people, but you would have to work it out ahead of time and find someone with the dice and willing to do it. Most people only bring exactly what they need to play in the events they are signed up for.
If you were going to borrow something that is more valuable (like a unicorn), then expect to put some type of collateral down. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Another question I have about Gen Con (or tournaments in general). I have a few of those army mats. Do you bring those for tournies or do people do it more "old school" with the cardboard where it says home, horde, etc? Or does it matter? _________________ HeroScape - Tree Town Open Champion (2008, 2016), Nebraska Skirmish Champion (2008, 2010) GenCon LightWeight Champion (2009), GenCon General Wars (Aquilla Champion 2009) GenCon Unique Hero Champion (2009, 2010)

just be aware that what is in the official rulebook (and not printed on a mat) is what matters. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |
