| I still think about this, but right now I'm seeing how my own take on a DD Duels game works out. I think for the campaign idea we are at the "make a map" stage. |

I have not abandoned the idea at all guys, just this thread is moving slow so instead of having something running before the next meet, ill have to bring it up there.
Keep posting if anything comes to mind though I will surely bring up these ideas then. |

Wow stormy I am really glad you bumped this up. I got seriously about it just before I started both school and my job and completely lost track of it. I will definitely be looking into this again thanks and stormy your an idea machine so what I think I will do is hash something more solid than last time and then see what we can do. Your ideas and input are very welcome. _________________ Will

Vaguely contemplating grouping the factions by home terrain type...
We've got
Swampland (Green/Gold)
Naturally favored by Swamp Stalkers, Goblins, and Treefolk
Coastland (Green/Blue)
Naturally favored by Coral Elves
Flatland (Gold/Blue)
Naturally favored by Feral and Amazons
and Highland (Red/Gold)
Naturally favored by Dwarves and Lava Elves
Unallocated by this scheme are Undead, Scalders, Firewalkers, and Frostwings. Firewalkers will want a blue terrain; Undead probably want to team up with another black-aligned race... thoughts? |

Firewalkers are a natural in Wastelands (blue and red).
Scalders are a natural in Feylands (green and red).
Undead really don't care about terrains since none have black.
Frostwings care more about Standing Stones than color, but of course favor blue terrains.
Don't forget Eldarim! _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I was trying to keep it to four divisions based on the four original terrains; six is spreading the races a little thin, IMO, unless we want to allow some races into more than one faction.
I haven't seen the Eldarim in play much, and certainly not as a focus of an army, so they don't intuitively feel like a race to me, setting flavor aside. |

NMcCoy, play DProman sometime, he is the Eldarim master. Really good. Last couple of games have not been in his favor but thats just how this game goes. Usually though, he smashes face. _________________ Will

intuitively....
yes that may be so...
the eldarim have many surprises built into their race.
It takes some study to start to unravel these racial abilities.
I still am finding new concepts as well as other players...

| I'm in for Treefolk, but I'd prefer not to use swampland with them. I never play them at swamps or highlands if I'm not playing magic; I tend to use Flatland if I'm not using the new terrain. |

their only resurrection spell is water of life, a green spell. so make sure you aren't accidentally doubling ID's at a non-green terrain to cast that spell. magic doubling is the main reason I play them in the swamps. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

| Oh I'm aware. I stick to Wild Growth mainly, but I avoid those two terrains because I don't like fighting double maneuvers or maneuvers as saves. That's four races knocked off their advantage. |

Pretty much, but as I said, Treefolk don't require Swampland; it just happens to help double magic. I usually take a Wasteland City and Wasteland Dragon's Lair when I can; they provide the most melee faces for my army, give me access to dragons, and no race has a racial ability tied to it. A Feyland Dragon's Lair might be slightly better, but I don't have one. |
