The Eladrim and Undead racial abilites survied my own Undead Dragon's double breath...
plus 2 more undead breaths.

A city promoted dragonkin.

The double breath survival tactic was:

Kill undead units and step damage on the second breath.

Kill X health of Eldarim...
sacrifice X dragonkin to save them..
this also keeps the dragonkin from being buried.

if you have any eldarim in the dua...
you can also use sacrifice dragonkin at the beginning of your turn.


Overall the combination of Undead and Acolytes worked well...

the shield bearers even dismissed a green breath...
since I had 5 health of acolyte shield bearers.

I also took advantage of the new health construction for magic items.

So my army was 37 points.

I like to couple the Seven-League boots with the ghost.

Jim always seems to come up with really novel armies for each major show. I faced this army in the 4th round of the 2011 Worlds Tournament with the army I used in the 2010 Worlds Tournament.

Jim summoned my own Black/Gold hybrid dragons against me. When I rolled them against myself, they ended up "biting the hand that fed them" and generated some casualties, so when I had the opportunity to summon drgaons, I returned the favor by summoning Jim's black/Ivory hybrid dragons against him - and Jim did a "great job" of rolling against himself (after his Eldarim Champion failed to make his roll). The first time was two breaths and 3 damage, but he said he was prepared for this - and he was.

Between the stepped-damage and sacrificing of Dragonkin, he was able to mitigate his losses quite effectively, but he needs to have the Dragonkin present - because the next round he ended up rolling another Breath against himself, and the Dragonkin were absent, so the damage was more lethal.

His army was in far better shape after suffering three black/ivory Breath SAIs over 2 turns than any other army might have been...
