SFR will be attending this bright shiny new convention in just a few months.

We are helping to sponsor it, but how large of an impact we make depends on you!

Anyone in the area who might be traveling to attend?
Anyone who wants to help us run events, demo, etc?

SFR will provide you a badge and we can discuss other considerations.

Currently it is just me and mine, which is not a very big impact. I need one or two other helpers.

And as always, this would make you eligible for one of the special alternate-inked volunteer dice that can not be obtained any other way Wink

Troy, Josh is gonna help me run some Quest events. What would your availability be for running a few events for me? If you've already paid for a badge I could probably get it refunded...

Currently we have: The Wiggs Trio, The Pint Trio, and Troy...

Anyone else who was planning on being there?

Thats my fault. I haven't entered them yet Shocked

what type of events would you like to see? since its our first convention i usually only do novice type demos and maybe a single sealed event. this type of convention usually doesn't handle a constructed event.

I have never had a chance to play in a constructed Dragon dice event before.
I was hoping to see how they play out. I play with a very isolated group of people who usually play the same things over and over. I was curious to see what people usually play in events. Im sure our little homebrew teams would get smashed at an event with seasoned players. I was hoping to see some of that stuff at forgecon and have an idea to be ready for gencon. But I can understand about forgecon being small and not having the numbers for a constructed event. I would play in sealed for sure and the novice events. I will be bringing a couple of friends that have played from time to time with me and Im sure they would play also.

correct, the issue is that we don't have an existing playerbase to do constructed events, but I will plan on having some sealed or draft events or something...

I will have something on all three days or you can help influence them by making suggestions.

sealed events are fun, but you really have to know the dice. Im assuming that the sealed events will be either a ss/amazon or udead feral plus a kicker? Id like to see some frostwings tossed into the sealed events. They would go well with either set. (plus the excitment of accidentlay pulling an ogre and then having to play with it instead of imeditaly trading it away) I think saterday afternoon would be good for this.

I haven't seen their book yet, but what should be entered each day are a several 2 hr novice tournaments with an hour break between and then a 2 hr sealed starter tournament to end the day.

The intention for this sealed starter is not who knows the dice the best. I expect all players who attend will be at the novice level. This is more just to get them to play and have people see them play.

Like Gencon, the entry fee is less than the cost of a starter. so its also a sales promotion.

at 2 hrs long its going to be blitz dragon dice, but it'll be fun.
