Hello All,
It's that time again, time to prepare for Gamestorm (March 22-25)! Registration and game submissions are now open!
I want to hear from you what events that you would like to see (even from those who cannot attend, suggestions from BOD is appreciated and welcomed).
Do we want 1 or 2 sealed events/tournaments? (cost of materials)
How many and what type of constructed events/tournaments? (free to play/BYOD)
I would like to have at least one sealed "draft" tourney again this year, probably make it our 'showcase' event Saturday night 6p or 7p. Any thoughts?
Thursday and/or Friday night tourneys could be 'constructed',
examples are (but definitely not limited to): (1) No Magicians (2) Single Race (3) All Commons? - something I just thought of.
Please make suggestions.
I think/hope that we will have enough volunteers to run/host events that there will be a wide selection of choices for gameplay. I also want to run a demo table with scheduled times, so that I may also participate in as many events as possible while providing demo opportunities.
Please, let's coordinate our efforts and make this the best Gamestorm to date!
Let's start planning!
Thank You for your support!

Hello All,
We've just been guaranteed two 6ft tables at GS14 for the entire weekend! It would awesome to have DD events running around the clock (if humanly possible (the more exposure we have the better). So, please help me out by suggesting DD events that you would like to see. I have a few fun ideas, but I'd like to hear from you all. I will be making a list of proposals and submitting them by Jan. 30th, so please, send me your thoughts and ideas ASAP.
Thank You _________________ Rep (director) |

p.s. let me know if you want to come over some time and trade Dragon dice, chaos progenitus, marvel super dice or any other dice we like to collect.... _________________ "Another days useless energy spent." Moody Blues |

I dont know Dave, its great that you put on so much stuff for Dragon dice, but I think you may be overdoing it a bit (dont want to see you get burned out) . 2 or maybe 3 dragon dice events per day are cool, but I'd like to see you enjoy the rest of the convention more . I can help with 2 or 3 events over the entire span of the con, but there are many other games i'd like to try also . _________________ "Another days useless energy spent." Moody Blues |

I only scheduled that many events because no one else would. I've given everyone here 2 months to coordinate with me and not one single person responded. If this revival is to continue, we need more people involved! When that happens, I will gladly take a diminished role. I schedule events to maximize exposure and show that this is not a dead game! So, who's with me? _________________ Rep (director) |

| I'd be happy to volunteer for SFR at GameStorm for the entire duration, if they can cover the admission for me. Skawilly has offered to help me with transportation. |

Day 1 was GREAT!!!
DProman refused help today. He managed things on his own (By force...) but no one was kept waiting. He was simply in the zone.
Jace was at the table the entire time as well. He helped me play test a couple items but mostly prep'd for the events.
No tourneys tonight, however.

Dragon Dice fills one's time. Despite all the colors and sounds of the other tables... In comparison is just background noise.
Today was great. we had a worlds event. In fact no one really took it seriously. This was a problem. Everyone was revolting against Feral so for some rank reason 2 of the folk here, no names (Jace Thomas and Stormywaters) decided to make the same Feral builds involving a Kings' Die. So we ended up with 3 Feral armies, and of course the person who came in first (NMcCoy) Was the only one taking that event seriously.
Actually DProman asked me later in the evening if everyone was just enjoying the chaos rather than focusing to win. I could not have had as much fun trying to win, was well worth it.
The 2nd event was the sealed starter draft. I am always a fan of those. My biggest enjoyment from them is that you get that fresh player feel in that, any SAI that comes up at the right time is completely unexpected and a good surprise. But also that your trying your damnedest to get similar working die in the same army but there are a bazillion trash results and concentration is impossible. What was very odd about this one is that 12 of the 15 Rares were ranged. Actually this was the primary reason I ended up winning. The remaining 3 rares, I dont know one of them but I selected the 2 heavy smiters and heavy melee common/uncommons and based my hodgepodge of mages around the color red. I was a burning hands maniac. Was good stuff.
Finally got DProman away from the booth for a couple hours. So that was a bonus. This is a great Con and more tomorrow.
g'd night! _________________ Will

Ok, sunday night was sick. Stormy had the 'Worst armies event' and that was a blast. Ill tell you though its a tedious format. Playing one really bad army against another. Takes a LONG time. It was fun though. Unfortunately mine got complaints because I used the new magic item point system and no one knew how to build the thing during setup. (As you know you give your army to your opponent and try to win with his to prove yours is worse!).
A lot of follow up customers on the last day. The booth was full of newbies who bought a starter from the day before. Its just a great thing. We just give them space, let them play and then just answer those first few complicated questions.
However, being it was the end of 4 days of gaming we were all worn out. I was happy to leave at 4:30 which was early. DProman is truly a good man. He loves to play. I dont think at all he is concerned with the out come of things. He loves to build sweet armies and roll die. Thats a good collector for ya'. (Though he did come in last on Saturdays tourney, I was the only one he beat.... I dunno how to take that!)
I did win a tourney and GUARDIAN GAMES here in portland sponsored our draft and they printed us certs for the victors on top of the promo die the organizer (DProman) provided for prizes. I actually went out of my way to have mine signed by all participating reps of the tourney (Stormy, Jace and DProman). Made my day.
NOTE: I just want to point out that ranged/mage armies are sweet in the first round or 2, if you dont win then and there, well, your done. This was a lesson learned coming 2nd to last in the NW Tourney. Its very powerful, bust it out once every 4 or 5 games in friendly meet ups but DONT think it will win a tourney. I got my ... handed to me. In fact I wiped out and undead army in this first round but then they started exhuming me.
RANGED DONT SAVE and DONT MOVE!!! _________________ Will
