How are the "spells slightly off"? We'd really like to have this fixed. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Ok yes, I was going to mention Degen and no need for amazons, as there is a disclaimer by Ms.Tiffany. However, and youll have to pardon me if I missed something because I only play 3 races. SS's dont use "Restless Dead" and as well they use "Mire". Goblins and Undead are top notch. Seriously though guys, I was not trying to critique she did a great job. I did download them and they are awesome.

| All of the demo versions of the mat come up with jumbled texts and all have Feral icons when I open them in my web browser and when I open them with a PDF viewer. The intermediate mats work just fine. |

Which web browser and which viewer? Which Operating System? I've seen problems with Apple computers. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

| I used both Safari and Firefox on an Apple. I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader and that fixed the issue. Apple's PDF viewer 'Preview' was the issue. Thanks for the help! |

Yeah, the Apple version doesn't like these playmats. It ignores the 'hidden' attribute and shows the images anyway. Its annoying. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

These are really, really fantastic. They were indispensable while I was playing my first couple of games at DEXCON, and they're, well, still indispensable, because I hardly have any of the rules committed to memory at this point. And they're making it worlds easier to teach my daughter the game, which is all to the good.
Have you good folks at SFR given any consideration to producing actual playmats based on these designs?
MissTiffany: Would you be willing to allow your designs to be used at one of the places that prints custom playmats? (eg: http://www.inkedplaymats.com/products/custom-playmat) Looks like, if you don't need a lot of hand-holding getting the image size right, you can get a custom mat for around $25. |

Oh, sure, yeah. I'm actually fortunate in that, at work, we have a color inkjet that will do 11x17 (actually, it would do the mats full-size if we only had the stock to print it on), so I've got them in that size (and in color!) I just think it would be cool to have something sturdier. The laminated ones that were in use at DEXCON were great, but alas, I don't have a laminater.
Honestly, I'm fine with what I've got. I just get a little ... ambitious ... when I find a new game I really like. |

Hm. I'll have to take a trip to Kinkos, methinks. At least for the intermediate mats -- I think we're only likely to play a cuple more games with the demo rules. |

I prefer the army cards to those little boxes on the playmats
There's just something wrong about those army areas on the playmats
Its one of those situations where I can't really say why I don't like it, I just don't |

MissTiffany won't like it, but I plan to do a major overhaul on these over the next year.
Could it be the size? _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

The information contained on the playmats is awesome and perfect for demoing/teaching the game. The borders around the dice areas is the only thing I would change. To make them slightly bolder, to make it clear where to put dice. Just my quick thought on the matter. _________________ Rep (director) |

Maybe I'll print out the playmat and look at all the different types of play mats I have...
But currently I have the Battle Box play mats and the starter play mats. I like the starter play mats that have lots of information on them, but they take up a lot of space and you have to remove the dice to look at them. I prefer the battle box mats that are smaller and sized just right for the army. Plus a place to write your name so you know which armies are yours. And it's not cluttered. There's definitely advantages to both, though. Just my two cents on a random thought. _________________ Collection |

Dolus, I think I'm having a terminology problem. Can you maybe send a picture to represent what you are talking about? _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Rather, I think I'm having a terminology problem. I can't remember what to call them, and I shouldn't call them playmats at all. Too confusing with the actual playmats we have. Looking at the store, the cards in the starters are called "3 army setup cards"
Aside from the actual battle play mat that comes with the battle box, I don't have any printed/purchased playmats to use.
Starter card
Battle box card
So now you can see it is I who has the terminology problem. [/url] _________________ Collection |

I was trying to be nice and not blame the misuages of words on either one of us.
what you have are what we call 'army cards', but one is from the old starters and one is from the newer starters.
when you say 'playmat', I think of the 24inch by 12 inch papers that this thread is about. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

| I like the army cards more than the playmats, maybe its the fact that you can move them around from terrain to terrain that I prefer, the fact that they are modular as opposed to one big sheet |
