Bash can produce melee result on dragon attack.
| Quote: | | During a dragon attack, target one dragon that did normal damage. Bash immediately does back damage equal to the melee results of the target dragon. |
Let's take an example. Two non-white dragon are against me.
They roll Belly and Claw ; I roll Bash on my magic item, along with 10 missiles. No ID anywhere.
I must chose the Claw dragon for the Bash, because he is the only one to have done normal damage (which mean wing, claw, jaws, and tail only, and not breath, I suppose).
Now, the 6 damage he do are prevented and I have 6 "back" damage.
Can I inflict thoses 6 damages to the belly dragon, or only to the Claw Dragon ?
All the following question are void and useless if I can use this backdamage as I want. Otherwise :
If the back damage are forced against the bashed dragon, can I use my 10 missiles results along with the 6 melee to kill the claw dragon ? I suppose so, the rule say that melee and missile cannot be combined and must be all of the same type, but I suppose it mean that all 10 damage must be of the same type, not all damage on the dragon.
If, instead of 10 missile, I had 4 melee still without any ID, could I use them on the belly dragon, or am I forced to complete the 6 melee of the other dragon to 10 damage ? The rule say that if I have 10 damage of the same type, I must kill a dragon, but here some damage are already "assigned" to a dragon.
Second example : they are three non-white dragon, one with claw, one with treasure, and one with belly. I have one bash, 9 melee, 10 missile. Must I kill all the three, or can I assign 10 missile to the bashed dragon, 5 melee on the belly dragon, and have 4 leftover damage ? |

Only to the clawing dragon, as "During a dragon attack, target one dragon that did normal damage. Bash immediately does back damage equal to the melee results of the target dragon."

I think bash damage is applied before normal results are, as "Bash immediately does back damage equal to the melee results of the target dragon." (my italics). This means that they cannot be combined anyway, regardless of whether the normal results are melee or missile.
This also seems to answer the following questions:

(you wouldn't be able to kill any dragon, as you deal 2 packages of damage, one of 6 where 10 is needed, and one of 4 where 5 is needed)

(at best, you can only kill 2 dragons. Again the bash doesn't really do any effective damage)
