| Looks like the last two games have wrapped up. The four winners were: Dwarves (lastnightsdinner), Lava Elves (sweetberlinetta), Undead (Matthias Maccabeus), and Frostwings (dburkley). On to the finals! |

| I thought we just finished 4 games with 4 winners. How do we suddenly have 8 people from 4 people out of 4 games? |

I'm not sure that the idea of 2 winners per game was entirely clear. If the objective was simply not to be the first loser, then I think some people (myself, for example) would have played far differently, strategically speaking. It was mentioned at one point, but never confirmed.
Regarding the terms used: A single-elimination tournament is one in which teams play one another once and any team that loses is eliminated (like the NCAA Basketball Tournament). Double-elimination means teams play one another multiple times, either in a round robin or in series, and any team that loses twice is eliminated (like the NCAA Baseball College World Series).

Just let the four winners play and lets call it good. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

From the time armies were posted to the last game's conclusion took three months, too. I'm not sure this thing's got the gas to last to August. |

F | making this essentially a double elimination?
That would mean a winners four player game and two loser games as a second round.
Then a final three player game.
and at worse case a two player tie-breaker game, if needed...
i could do that. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

| I'd also be up for just creating additional 3/4-player games |

I was thinking more along these lines, actually. Simply playing with the same army against some different opponents would be great.

| I'd be willing to play some other losers! I might like to swap about 3-4 points of units in the army. Did we want to allow any of that or keep things fixed? |

If we allow this, I'm definitely putting a Gold Medallion in my army. But I'm fine with doing it either way. It puts a bigger target on armies with a medallion.
Just look at the comeback had by Funky's Eldarim army! |

I'd play again if I can change out one Nightmare for a Gold Medallion. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

If we are all inclined to add a medallion, wouldn't it be more fun to all leave the medallion out?

I would not be adding a medallion, because I do not own one and because I do not like them. So we could try where everyone has a medallion but me and I just lose. Or something else.
In seriousness, I do understand Mr. Pint's dilemma, in that he has no good way to bring back units. Each die will only produce magic at a 10% rate, can only double on a Standing Stones, needs 12 magic in any one roll to cast an appropriate spell, and cannot resurrect at all at a Swampland or in Reserves. On the other hand, he is the one who opted to play with 9 Nightmares . . .
Do we want to set a limit of how many points we can exchange? Maybe 4 or 6 points? It's not as though anyone can make a simple swap and gain an advantage over every other participant. Do we want to give the Amazons an exception and maybe let him change up a larger portion of the force on the assumption that the first game was mostly a "test"? Or are we inclined to handicap him on the phony grounds that he's "better than we are"? (They gave me the broken controller in GoldenEye and claimed that it was to offset my superiority, but I'm actually pretty bad at video games and they were just being babies.) |

I'm game either way. I own a couple of gold medallions, but don't use them when I play for a similar reason as AC; I don't like them. |
