Question from our last game:

Dragon Staff rolls a Summon Dragon SAI but there isn’t any another Dragon at the Summoning Pools: can use the die re-roll ability?

I assume there are dragons in play? If that is the case you can summon one of those to another terrain if they match the color of the staff and if they are not Ivory. Other than that i guess the roll would just have no effect.

You can resummon a dragon to the same terrain or to a different terrain, or wrest control from a Dragonlord/master. The dragon does not need to be in the summoning pool; the SAI follows the same rules as the Summon Dragon spell. The SAI always rerolls during a magic action.

If the elemental color of the ivory hybrid matches the color of the dragon staff, then the summon dragon SAI can affect them. It doesn't matter if they are in a summoning pool or at a terrain.

I'm in my Home and the Frontier terrains and I haven't any other Dragon in the Summoning pool and I don't want resummon a Dragon from the Home terrain of my enemy.
I have to summon a Dragon to one of my terrain to use the re roll ability or not?

In that case, you simply choose a dragon that is at your enemy's home terrain and resummon it to the same terrain. Basically a do nothing operation, but it fulfills the requirements of the SAI.

The reroll always occurs. Even if you rolled the SAI on a red dragonstaff and no one brought any red or red-hybrid dragons, the staff still gets rerolled.

In that way the Dragonstaff Arifact the most powerful dice in the game, don't you think?

Always can use the reroll effect even no matching color dragon.
If I roll SummonDragon 3 times that is 21 magical point (from normal summon points) but the die cost to bring to play only 4 points.
I think this is extreme, is there any army conception from I can leave out this brutal and vere useful die??
