Hi. My name is Bill... and I have a problem...

Oh wait, this isnt that kind of meeting? Not this week you say, oh ok... ill check back in 2 weeks and get back to you. Ok, lets try this again. Good evening kind Sir's of dice chucking fandom. I just wanted to take the time to say hello and hope that you will accept me into your cosy little corner of the internet that you call home.I'm a new player of Dragon Dice... well, that's not entirely true. I'll explain again in a sec. My first introduction into the game harkens back if you will to its humble beginings in 1995, when TSR released a than unheard of concept, while other companies were trying to buy up any generic license for a CCG that they could get their hands on.

TSR decided to litteraly break the dice mold so to speak, shunning conventional Numbers/Pips for a plethora of assorted icons related to missle attacks, melee icons, and more unique ID icons across several differant races that you could shake a stick at, or in this case cram into a traditional Yahtzee cup. And after that introduction, i was hooked. With only a play group that consisted of Myself, my neighbor and his younger brother, we quickly awaited the next trip to the city (100km away) and the closest 2 comic stores to see what was available. Dice bag in hand and rule book in the other we spend the following weekend just going over the rules together inbetween games of Magic and Overpower. Making sure our knowledge was good enough, and our fondness for the races we would want to devote to was sufficiant enough to get maximum enjoyment of what was another in a long list of games we tried in the next coming years.

Ok... flashback is over and nostalgia is dusted off, so lets get to the aftermath. I call myself a "New Player" because my knowledge of the rules is sadly long vanished into the armies and skirmishes of yesteryear. Even the dice i had in the past has since vanished. Lent to a friend and sadly never returned over around 14 years ago. That is truely a sad fate. I didnt have much, but any loss is truely a travesty for a game that i enjoyed. You dont even want to know about the amount of cards for various CCGS that i lost when a main water line broke.

A few months back i decided to look at Dragon Dice. Soaking up what information i could. I knew about the game getting lost into the restructuring of the TSR sale and Hasbro's following purchase of WotC. The last expansion i can remember from back in the day was hearing about the soon to be released Frost Wings. I still have yet to go back over the rules again. As it's not quite the easiest thing to find time out of work related things, to go over the rulebook at all again. But i'll get there so dont worry about that.

So one day by pure serendipity and fluke while in a Mtg facebook group, the subject of letherette magic pouches comes up, and i mention that i also have one of the blue TSR Dragon Dice pouches kicking around as well. Suprising enough a guy comes back and mentions that he has a small collection in storage since he played the game back in the day, and after working out the particuliars of a deal, and blindly trusting mailed cards to the faith or a random conversation on facebook. I get a box containing dice in the mail a while later. I've dealt with trades through the mail in the past for card games, as well as off and on for heroclix so thats not a worry, but thats usually self contained from a website and moderators running the place. Not just something random that popped up from a conversation.

So here i go again it seems. There is no local player base at all, and I'm far enough away from any conventions that could remotely be possible of happening. So it will be a collection for now, untill someone wants to play a few games from my own dice. Three hundred dice may only seem like a drop in the bucket to what some guys here have. But i plan on expanding that real soon. last weekend i managed to miss the Firewalker lot that was on ebay, which was my choice race to play for fun back in the day. Never did manage to get a Phoenix back than, or a Beholder. Though after this auction loss i hooked the Undead lot. Which was another fun army i enjoyed. Waiting on dice to come in from a trade online through a guys website, which conveniently he is on here from time to time ocasionaly. Another plus.

I'm only going to be collecting certain dice, roughly up to the cutoff of Frostwings, so most passed that ill get rid of i think. It's only a small list, but go check out what i have. I have it all cataloged into GoogleDrive. Ill start looking for trades soon enough. Already traded off a 2 Head Goblin, as well as have a second on ebay. Though i think it will be a case of Firewalkers some time in the month i pick up as well. May as swing an early birthday gift as such.

Dragon Dice was a great game. I'm glad to see that it still has a following and still lives.

Welcome (back?) to Dragon Dice! As you have figured out, the game is active again. And not to say bad things about eBay, but we'd much rather you brought from our on-line webstore. Of course, be sure to download the latest rules from our website as well. You should find any number of people here ready to respond to your questions. You can also play a game on-line right here on our forums!

Oh, no worries Sir. I'm already registered for the store. The lot i bought online was for loose dice. But i have every intention of supporting a game l thoroughly enjoyed, by helping out that company, your company, directly. After all, without you and other Reps and volunteers, Dragon Dice for me would just still be a dusted off memory. Thank you for making sure that didnt happen. Smile

Hello!
I was wondering how to introduce myself and then I’ve found The Decepticons’ post with story much like mine, so I thought this will be a good start.

I first came across Dragon Dice in mid/late 90’. My school friend and his brothers had enough dice to play great battles for long months. Later on, when we left school I forgot about the game for long time. I remember that at some point I started to look around to get my own set of this “game I used to play” but could not find much more than some old photos and long expired threads at game/RPG forums, so the game was lost among other memories again.

Cup of weeks ago Dragon Dice came to my mind again. I actually can’t tell what triggered it, but I started to search in the internet and … bingo! I learned that SFR was created to keep the game alive, or rather to resurrect it. I don’t remember the rules we used to play back in the days, but I’m sure there is now plenty of dice I have never seen before. Of course I was thrilled with this discovery and wanted to get my own brand new starter set … but it turned out it’s not that simple.

I went to all board game/battle game/RPG shops I knew and not only I could not find a single starter or kicker, but actually no one knew what I’m talking about! I have no idea where my friend got his dice, but it turns out it was surely not a popular game in here. I tried to look in online stores, but the prices are insane, or shipping costs are over 200% of usual postage or shipping to Europe in not possible at all.

I can see that there are some players in Europe, so I would like to ask if there is any official European distribution channel I could use to get some dice and play the game once more?

I would be grateful for any piece of advice, and once more Hello!

Our most stable European distributor seems to be Esdevium Games. If the stores around you have them as a distributor, they should be able to get all our product.
