|
|
So i didn't quite know where to put it, but i figured that i'd ask here in this section anyway. I'm looking for some input on the rough value of a King's Die. I'm not looking to get rid of one, but pick one up actually. A good while back when i first started up again, and picked up dice off of a guy i know in the States, when he sent me the dice he opted to keep a few promos. I was ok with it. Going back through the photos he sent me i noticed he had a King's Die which was never sent, so i assumed that he still had it and messaged him about it the other day.
I've been talking to him for a bit on it and he's told me that he would agree to get rid of it. No longer playing Dragon Dice anyway, and since he's a regular Magic player, the trade will involve cards towards it. He's a nice guy and i don't want to low value the guy for it. A quick search of Ebay for ongoing and completeds yielded nothing to go by in terms of value as there were none there at all.
So i thought about a number as he was thinking of some cards, after digging out 2 cards for him and telling him he still had a bit to go yet. He asked me what it was worth. I told him that i couldn't really come up with an accurate or consistant number as i didn't have much to base it on. But the number i came back with to him as a rough estimate, i told him that i was comfortable at around $25 to $30. I asked him a few minutes later on what he figured initially it was worth, and since he no longer plays, and was given the thing for free at a Gencon, he told me he only thought it was probably worth about $10.
For me personally, and for the love of a game, i don't mind over valuing something at all and making sure the other person feels worth it. I've worked in a hobbyshop for over 5 years and am the same way if someone walks in looking to trade in cards. The guy has to mail the thing anyway, so as far as i'm concerned, even if it was worth only $10 i'd want to make him feel it was worth his time, if the postage was going to be higher than an envelope.
So my question is;
What do you feel that a King's Die is worth?
Have i overshot at $25-$30? Or should i give him an extra few bucks. Regardless of someone posting back that it might be less, i still feel comfortable giving him what i offered in cards for it. What something could be worth in terms of value really can only be dictated by what someone values it at, and someone wanting it. That's what i feel it's worth anyway.
Bonus Question
===========
And since you stuck here all to the end... another quick question i guess. I'm considering a case of Scalders soon enough. But before that happens I'm probably going to be in the market looking for an Unseelie Faerie. Have a TSR Magi to throw towards it as well. I know that i'm still a bit under, just wondered how much more would be fair. OR if anyone would possibly be interested in it. I know Chuck Pint's page is great for trying to balance something out though. Thanks for keeping that updated Chuck. _________________ Proceed on your way to oblivion... |

Most kings dies I see sell for between 25 and 45 it all really depends how bad people want them at any given time.....correct me if I'm wrong. Now what would really be worth your time is of the guy has a gold tsr dragonkin champion to pick up. _________________ Dragon dice collection 2597 |

This.
I would say it's worth about $40, but could be acquired for about $25 (what I think I got mine for). |
