Is the spell:

Open Grave Casting Cost: 6 Spell List: Basic
Target any army. Until the beginning of your next turn, for any army-targeting effect that causes damage to the target
army, any units taken as casualties immediately go to the reserve area rather than the DUA. Multiple castings target
multiple armies.

Is it to over powered?

I want to bring it up since every time i have faced an opponent they have always had issues getting past it.

Mind it the people i am up against are not Vetrans most are brand new to the game like me.

The only ways around it are through SAI's, Direct Unit spells and just spending 9 Magic to Spell blast it.

Example would be last tournament I played in the person who used Feral's I had to explain after the 3rd time they cast backlash that they where just forcing me to use 6 magic on my army and then my 5 Necromancers where just getting a free round of lets see if they can roll cantrip and since they would go to the reserves if i took casualties i could just use the troops that where just dropped in there for my 2nd maneuver to roll magic before i reinforced them once again back to the terrain or to another i wanted to.

It is a nasty spell to say the least and since it is a basic one all Death races have access to it.

I am curious on how others feel about it since using that one spells shuts down a lot of options for just 6 Magic which is pretty cheap for what it does.

I tend to play the death races and lava elf in particular, so I may be biased, but I've never seen it as a problem.

Cantrip is something you have to be careful about. it is sometimes better NOT to do something so that you don't risk your opponent getting a cantrip.

If there were one tweak I would make, it is not to that spell, but to the cantrip SAI itself. I think the game would be improved if more spells were not able to be cast via cantrip.

I took it to mean a second march.

People get used to using Backlash and don't think about when it is appropriate NOT to use it.
