I was happy to see my Wife, Kelly Brauser, still showing up as a Rep. My job has finally settled down enough I can now dedicate more time to reading through these posts and discussing everything.

I read through the PDF 1.5L up to the SAI's and thought now would be a good time to post:

The list of which spells can be cast from the reserves is missing two spells. Airy Acquisition and Flaming Spears. both of these spells fall under the requirements list in the paragraph above it to be able to be cast from the reserves. The first spell effects items in play so it qualifies. the second one is just the same as burning hands, but for missile results, so if burning hands qualify then so should this.


about to go through the SAI's. about 8 months ago I was working on recreating the whole original SAI list. I ported the PDF file into Word 2002 as a table, rewrote everything as it was then showing in the individual PDF files. scanned in all the new Icons for the newer races. had it showing all the icons for all races (all smite icons listed for the smite references) I was down to the letter T and then disaster: my laptop hard drive crashed, and of course I didn't do the smart thing and backup a copy to any of the 5 other computers in my house. Even with all the icons in the word doc the whole size was only 200K in size. along with this all my spell cards I created for my own players (pictures for lingering effect spells including all breath spells and also minor terrain effects) where whipped with them. I do have a almost fully updated version of the bone rollers dice list, in Word format so you can type in the number of dice you have and print them out, have it as individual pages so you can print just the page that was updated last, I scanned in the treefolk for it. it is almost fully up to date as it doesn't show the difference in the original dragon masters and the new dragon masters. with all the icons in this doc it is several megs uncompressed. BUT I have it fully compressed in a zip file and it is only about half a meg in size, would be happy to upload it.

Contradict myself? Not really. Here's why:

He's correct as far as the spells' descriptions meeting the requirements for spells castable from reserves. However, we decided not to list them under the spells castable from reserves, because there is no way under the current rules for those two spells to be cast from reserves. I had pointed out to Robert T. that the spells taken by themselves, meet the requirements for spells castable from reserves. But he and I agreed that since they couldn't actually be cast from reserves, it was less confusing to leave them off the list.

Then I'm confused. I thought the magic from a Dragon staff could cast ANY PUBLISH SPEll as the description states, whether racial or not. therefore any red dragon staff could cast flaming spears from reserves, any blue dragon staff could cast Airy Acquisition. What am I missing?
