Hi,

Last weekend we did a 3-day demo at the biggest Benelux games fair. (11000 visitors)

We were video-taped while we were explaining the game to some people and we ended up on the local news broadcast.

It's only a few seconds, but I thought it would be nice to share it here.

You can take a look at the news broadcast at:

http://www.omroepbrabant.nl/resources/video/video.aspx?site=1&department=4&section=21&programfolder=6&program=44&video=957

Click on the word "vrijdag" (= friday) on the right.
The interesting part is at about 7 minutes into the broadcast.
Take care: this is a "Internet exporer website" only...

I think the footage will be online until friday.

Wkr,

Anset

Way cool!!!! Love it. Hey, anyone out there know how to grab that file? I'd love to keep that clip around. The entire game convention part at least.

I tried to capture it, but they got it hidden behind an aspx object.

The tools I know of can't manage it. Sad

Hidden behind ASP.Net and a little javascript, and some hidden form variables. (I can't walk away from challenges like this)

Took all of 3 minutes to find it, but the direct URL is...

http://streams.kpnwebcast.nl/cgi-bin/reflector.cgi?type=wmv&dir=kpnmms&subdir=omroepbrabant\omroepbrabant\2005\incoming-video\brabantnieuws\vrijdag&stream=nieuws_400k&title=Omroep+Brabant:+Brabant+Nieuws

You MIGHT, be able to right click on this link and say save as:

http://streams.kpnwebcast.nl/cgi-bin/reflector.cgi?type=wmv&dir=kpnmms&subdir=omroepbrabant/omroepbrabant/2005/incoming-video/brabantnieuws/vrijdag&stream=nieuws_400k&title=Omroep+Brabant:+Brabant+Nieuws

You will have to give it the correct filename.wmv

If they are smart then that CGI will check the server you are requesting from and deny you access.

Sure you can download that, but it just gives you a media link to the video, not the actual video file. I was already at that point this morning when I asked for the help.

Hey anset! Maybe if you email them and ask for the video (or at least the game convention part of it), they might give it to you. Doesn't hurt to ask. Cool

BTW, is that you they showed in the video?

Ah, I can't actually download it from work, so I couldn't test it that far...

I had a ripper I got off a hacker site once which would resolve media link's into the video they linked to... Of course thats something else I can't search for from here and i'm not gonna be home until Saturday.

I've got it!

Thank you Cliff, I was looking for that url, but somehow did not spot it.
I was able to download the wmv! Very Happy

I'll cut out the convention part and put it on the net somewhere tomorrow.

I allready sent them an email this morning.
I'm waiting for their reply, but who cares now. Smile

And no, that's my partner.
We allways demo together... Smile

She's on this forum too but I'll let her step up herself.

Wkr,

Anset.
