I was bracing for the Magic Action, not that I expected you to generate any significant magic - but those Sneak Attacks are instant kills.
Save Roll against 8 melee damage.
Advocate: 1 maneuver
Bearmaster: ID icon
Magi 1: ID icon
Magi 2: 2 magic
Vindicator 1: Fly SAI
Vindicator 2: 3 melee
Wolfpack: 4 maneuvers

True. I went for the melee attack because I thought it had a slightly bigger chance of dealing more than 4 damage, even though it would have a smaller chance of dealing in general. I wasn't sure, however, as there were so many factors that could potentially play a significant role. So in the end I went with the fact that I was simply curious about how the melee would turn out. The Eldarim are a new experience for me, so I might as well try and learn the most from it. Too bad it turned out kind of underwhelming.
Nothing exiting happens during the rest of my turn.

I'm not very familiar with the Eldarim either, so I was very surprised at all the fireworks when I changed strategies to use dragons a few turns ago and saw it trigger a remarkable recovery.
I've noticed the board has a slight error that I just picked up on now.
On my last turn (Feb 3), only 2 Magi left the Reserve to the Wasteland Standing Stones during the Reserve Move, leaving 1 Magi behind (to retain the Open Grave spell), and the 3 Magi from the Flatland Standing Stones moved to Reserve to join the one that remained, so there should be 4 Magi in Reserve. I only rolled for two Magi during my recent save roll.
dburkley's turn:
Initial effects phase: Open Grave spells expire.
No other initial effects.
No Dragon Attack phase.
1st March: Activate Reserve - roll for magic:
Magi 1: Fly SAI
Magi 2: 4 magic
Magi 3: Cantrip SAI = 4 magic
Magi 4: 4 magic
Total: 12 magic. Cast 3 Windwalks on the Horde Army at the Wasteland Standing Stones.
2nd March: Active Horde Army - attempt to change the face of the terrain die (I know I'll get a countermaneuver in response).
Save Roll against 8 melee damage.
Advocate: Fly SAI = 1 maneuver
Bearmaster: 3 maneuvers
Magi 1: Cantrip SAI = 0
Magi 2: ID icon = 3 maneuvers
Vindicator 1: 3 melee
Vindicator 2: 3 saves
Wolfpack: 4 maneuvers
Gold Medallion: Wayfare SAI = 4 maneuvers or option to move, so I'll wait until I see the counter-maneuver roll, since its simultaneous.

Yes, that was rising to the occasion. That was probably the best effort I could have made. I will not use the option on Wayfare.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised as well. Though I must admit that the circumstances could not have been better, as getting Chest from the Dragon was amazing. I was also really happy with the plays I made after that, especially about keeping my Warder with 5 points of Dragonkin. That was something I had not anticipated about the Eldarim before I started this game, and it really helped me get back into the game.
Another thing I learned that it might not be a bad move for my army to summon a dragon to the terrain they are at. At relatively little risk, they allowed additional rolls on my medallion, which proved to be really helpful.

I assume this is the army at the frontier? In this case I most definitely will oppose the maneuver.

Well, it's possible, although not probable with the recent losses...

Gold Medallion: TSR SAI
Total: 8 maneuvers + 12 from the three Windwalk spells = 20
A fortunate roll. Turn the terrain down to 7, but I will conduct no action.
This is just as bad a situation to withstand as last turn.
Reserve Move: Advance two Magi from Reserve to the Frontier.

edited had several wrong dice in turn as posted (rerolling from dragon forward as he was at least a correct die)

Wow! I thought I had it bad enough already...
Upon closer inspection of Wall of Thorns, I see that it triggers upon a successful maneuver attempt that results in changing the face of the die, so that's inconsequential to me... for now.

I'll use the Cantrip to cast Wind Wall.
