for a 36 point game, I really like using backlash and other antimagic armys.
My normal feral army is 3 common, 3 uncom 3 rare magic users which equal 18 points, and the same thing for missle. However its fun to play, but it never wins. Got any feral suggestions for me?
I will be playing all weekend, so please feel free to all sorts of new armies
thanks again guys! |

Feral missile -> Yuck.....
Feral Cavalry or Light -> YES!
Backlash is not that great a spell. I never cast it. Here are the really great Feral spells:
Hide: put that unit out there and no one can touch it. Load it up with Wind Walks and suddenly you can change the terrain with no real risk. Watch out for dragons and Firewalkers.
Wind Walk: use it often
Transmute Rock to Mud: use it with Wind Walks. Note you can cast Wind Walks from reserve but not Transmute Rock to Mud.
Wilding: Cast this on your melee army. Double any unit with lots of melee, and use it again when you roll for saves.
Path: move your units quickly from one terrain to another. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Chuck is the big Feral player. He would suggest dumping the missile and getting some cav.
get yourself to magic and hide/path/TRtM/WW yourself until you win. I'll let him explain the abbreviations. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

No Feral mage has a Move Icon, and Cantrip don't Works in a Move Action.
You have only the ID for each die.
So how do you set your Terrain to Magic? _________________ All gone |

Don't use the mages to move the terrain. That's what the rest of your Feral are for. You can put the mages into reserves and use them to cast Wind Walks. When the terrain is at the 8th face, then you move your mages to the terrain. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

This a Great Idea and a complete new way thinking for me. At Most, i tried to Set 2 Terrains at the same time to 8 for a fast win, most of my armys worked so. Therefore i Love Firewalkers, they are made for this tactik, but now i See much New Ways, thank you. _________________ All gone |

I actually just posted an "Anti Magic" army that does in fact use ranged. Though Chuck Pint is 10 times the feral player I am but I did mess around with the following build and I found it to be a big hit:
Do your 3 rare/3uncom/3com pyramid, but with ranged. the other army add 2 owls and more ranged, probably need a treb or 2 to bury. The owls offer dispel and have a hardcore ranged SAI, plus the occasional spell when you need it. Yes your range is not as good as others but its quicker than most big time. Feral are generally quick anyway. Because you can feralize you can res w/o magic. If you can get a hold of a city your lookin' good.
Your looking at about ~ 25 pts. in ranged and a couple of owls and w/e else you maybe lacking. The dispel will keep dragons and other nasty things like dancing lights off of you. 4 to 5 possible ranged SAI's and roughly 20 dmg army shots its pretty effective. |
